About Washington Elementary

Washington Elementary School was built in 1959. We house about 400 students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. We are situated in a quiet, historic neighborhood. Our students are taught by a highly qualified staff of teachers, most of whom are master teachers.  Our school was completely remodeled inside and out in 2009--it is just beautiful!

Our data driven program is state accredited and is tightly aligned with the state of Michigan core curriculum content standards.  We continue to be aware of our students' progress by utilizing student data from a variety of sources.

Educational experiences are broad and suit the needs of our diverse population. Students with Limited English Proficiency are involved in general education classes with comprehensive support. We offer a wide variety of assistance supported by Title I funds.

Washington Elementary is closely partnered with local universities and businesses where we share in the expertise of college students and prominent citizens from our area. We enjoy one of the most active, loyal volunteer groups anywhere!
